It is possible to turn your hobby into a career path if you enjoy photographing children
August 16th, 2009    Subscribe To Our FeedIf you enjoy photographing children, you might well turn your hobby into a career path!
If you’re an amateur photographer, you’ve probably browsed some of the stock photo sites online. Did you ever think of selling some of your photos through these websites? People make a significant income doing just that, particularly if you have an eye for what sells. A very lucrative niche market can be made out of photographing children. Go browse some of the stock photo sites for photos of kids. You’ll notice that expressively cute, playful, whimsical and smiling photos are big sellers. Ditto on kids with kids, as well as kids with pets. Images that evoke positive feelings are obviously most successful. Browsing the stock photo sites in this manner can be quite helpful to your objective of turning your hobby into a small business.
Most parents shoot photos of their kids at every opportunity. Find the most appealing photos in your collection of children’s photos and try to determine what it is that appeals. Is it the occasion? In many cases, you’ll find that the expression on the child’s face is what really grabs you. Kids are usually more expressive as they are less self conscious than adults. That could be why taking photos of kids is so enjoyable. You can capture emotions of surprise, delight and pure joy as children rarely hide their feelings.
Sometimes a salable photo can be made out of tantrum a frown or something that we might generally perceive as bad behaviour. You’ve probably caught an emphatic tantrum or a frown on a kids face that although it wasn’t at the time becomes comical when viewed at a later date. With an appropriate caption for a humorous greeting card these can be excellent material.
In front of a camera some kids are natural hams. Once you really start being observant, you’ll see the wealth of material available in photographing children.
Go through photos you already have on hand and choose those you think might sell and submit. You have nothing to loose. It could result in sale of hundreds or even thousand of dollars worth of sales in a year if you have a hot seller in your hands.
In addition to selling to the stock photo sites, you have many other markets, such as magazines, church newsletters and newspapers. Consider putting together an exhibit to be shown at your local library. Imagine if people were calling you.
Groups with a focus on children’s issues often seek photos of children. A child or group of smiling children is heartwarming and can inspire potential donors to that cause to follow through and donate!
You should consider your hobby in a professional light if you enjoy photographing children. If you take the first step it may prove to be the best move you ever made.

Digital Picture Frames - Looking Good And Saving Space
August 16th, 2009    Subscribe To Our FeedAre you in the same boat as many other people who have a large collection of photographs built up over the years? If so then these probably represent a lot of happy memories for you - friends, family, social events, happy occasions and notable events throughout your life.
It’s not inconceivable that you could have collected, quite literally, hundreds - possibly thousands, of photos over the years. Unfortunately you probably have only a very tiny percentage of these on display.
Most likely you have a select few of your personal favourites mounted in conventional picture frames around your house. Maybe you’ve got a few on your desk at work. Some others might be mounted in photo albums - you probably look at these once in a blue moon, when the fancy takes you.
The large majority of your photographs - your happy memories - will be stored away in envelopes, old shoe boxes and biscuit tins. They may be up in the attic space, down in the basement, out in the garage or jammed into a drawer. One thing’s certain - you rarely see them. Neither does anybody else.
The problem is, even if you cover every wall in your house with frames, even if you cover every flat surface, shelf and table top with frames, there just isn’t enough room to get all your photos on display. It’s a commonly seen problem.
Thankfully, there is a very simple solution - digital photo frames. These can store and display hundreds of images on a single frame, either using the frame’s own inbuilt storage capacity or utilising a separate memory card. More importantly, they have the ability to cycle through the stored images in a slide show so that all of your photos can be seen using a single frame only. Of course, you can, if you want, just show a single image. You can always modify it manually whenever you crave a bit of variety.
If your pictures were taken with a digital camera then it’s a simple matter to display them using a digital frame. If you have prints, then the easiest thing to do is to convert them into a digital image format using a scanner. This is very easy, it’s as simple as using a photocopier. Some of the latest digital picture frames even have a scanner built into them to make this process easy for you.
So, whatever way you look at it, digital photo frames really are great value for money. There’s a broad range of prices - which depends upon specification and size - but many of them cost no more than an old fashioned static frame. They are very easy to use and they give you a great way to get a lot more of your photos on display. So if your happy memories are tucked away somewhere, gathering dust, then you should maybe check them out in the near future.

Top Rated Digital Cameras 101
July 19th, 2009    Subscribe To Our FeedIf you would compare just these features between the two digital cameras, you would choose the FE-300 for the price. Before you do that, you should compare all the different functions and features between the two.
With so many digital cameras for the modern shopper to choose from, it’s understandable that it can be difficult to know, that your getting good value for your money. Reliable and unbiased reviews can be hard to find, which is why many shoppers turn to companies like Consumer Reports.
Second of all, do not be fooled by the word megapixels. In previous years, megapixels were actually quite important in a camera. Now, don’t get me wrong, they still are. What I am saying though is that are not as important. These days, most cameras come out with at least 5 megapixels.
Interesting huh? Canon seems to be dominating sales, and wowing the critics. That’s a pretty strong one-two punch. The only reasonable conclusion here, is that Canon is the best overall brand out there. Of course I would never recommend anyone buy a camera based solely on brand. What I do suggest, is to do your homework by researching some good cameras. Once you’ve got your short list, and with everything else being equal, maybe then you should pick the Canon.
Before you do anything else, write down everything you want from your future digital camera. What types of photos will you take, normal or using a good optical zoom, and so on.This home shoppng digital camera in cheapest price and this how to choose the right pocket digital camera should help.
You can decide for yourself if the problems seem to be flaws in the camera or if the user does not know how to use the camera yet.
This Panasonic Lumix comes with something the manufacturer calls Intelligent Auto Mode (IAM). It’s supposed to help you take better pictures without having to mess around with multiple manual settings. Customers generally find though, that as soon as you get into anything less than perfect lighting conditions, or start using the 18X zoom IAM doesn’t always make the best setting decisions. If you want really good pictures in all situations, and all zoom levels, your going to have to learn to adjust the DMC-FZ18K manual settings. Learning can be a good thing, it just depends on how you plan to use your camera.
The dual image stabilization and face detection features make this camera a very good buy. These are just a few Fuji digital camera suggestions, but there are plenty more to think about.

Some Real Stand Up Digital Camera Help
July 19th, 2009    Subscribe To Our FeedBatteries are the scourge of this age of gadgets, and the Powershot A570IS is one of the major offenders. This thing chews through batteries like crazy. Customers have been reporting problems with the A570IS draining batteries after taking as few as 20 pictures. Canon claims you should be able to get about 130 pictures with regular alkaline batteries. It seems pretty much impossible these days, to get a camera under $300 with a decent rechargeable battery pack. Batteries are becoming the printer cartridges of the camera world.
Being able to click the shutter a number of times in succession, greatly increases your chances of getting that perfect shot. While the A570IS has a lot of great features, Canon seems to have greatly under designed the amount of battery power required to run the camera.
Can you name at least three problems with the Canon PowerShot SD750 Digital Elph Camera? If you can’t, then maybe you shouldn’t even be considering buying one. I’m not suggesting, that the SD750 is a terrible camera, I’m just suggesting that you should know what your getting before you buy it. Knowing the flaws in a digital camera (even a Canon) before you buy is the key factor in your after purchase satisfaction. Let’s consider some of the problems with the SD750 Digital Elph. This common types of digital cameras and this discounted digital cameras should help.
The first thing most salesman in camera shops try to up sell you on these days is rechargeable batteries and a recharger. You can of course, turn the display screen off, and only take pictures with the viewfinder to save battery life. Some customers I’ve heard from even take the batteries out of the camera when not using it, as the camera will drain batteries just sitting there. While these practices may help, they’re also a bit of a nuisance for the customer.
The function of a disposable camera is another disadvantage. You will not have all the available features on a disposable digital camera as you do on a digital camera that you use over and over again.
To start off, I must say that I was intrigued by some reviews I read, where people were comparing the DSCW300 against several Canon models and complaining about how colorful the ones taken with Canon were. This is true, but they were only comparing out of the box default color settings: increase the image sharpness on the Sony and you will get the same quality, if not even better. Sony supersedes Canon with the three stepped DRO (Dynamic Range Optimization): off, normal and extra, yielding a great palette of colors in both shady and well lit areas of a picture.
As hard as it is to find fault with the Nikon D300 DX Digital SLR (believe me I looked), I’d still have my doubts about buying one. It’s kind of too bad, as Canon and others could do with some serious price competition in this category.
Is it possible to find heaven in a camera? More precisely, the Nikon D300 DX Digital SLR Camera. Maybe. Maybe not. As with all great things, there are some blemishes. As good a camera as the D300 is, it’s not for everyone, and knowing who it’s good for is important. At least important to those contemplating buying the D300. Let’s consider some things to watch out for.

The Essential Digital Camera Features List
July 19th, 2009    Subscribe To Our FeedThe internet, or more specifically a few choice websites can make you a whole lot smarter when it comes to buying a new digital camera on the cheap. Your web browser is the ultimate big box store, devoid of annoying sales people, and more than willing to answer your every question.
While far from being a professional photographer, I believe I have quite a good understanding of it as a hobby and I know what to look for in a camera. I have been using a Nikon D40x for quite a while and as I started to realize that I have reached its limitations, I decided I had to keep up with the trend in technology and move on to a new model. This olympus digital camera and this digital photography small or big cameras ? should help.
A second LCD screen that shows the shooting parameters. Great if you messed with the settings and forgot what mode you are shooting in. Built in focus motor, allowing the photographer to use cheaper lenses! (With my old D40x I had to buy lenses with focus motor, which cost around $250 a piece. The motor-less ones for this camera are in the range of $100).
The Casio digital cameras reviews also include one about the Exilim Zoom EX-Z750. This camera has excellent features, settings and quality images.
For a while I was looking to buy a Canon 40D, until I spotted the new Nikon D90. Here’s a list of pros and cons I came up with after several weeks of using it.
The Nikon does not come with the raw editor so you would have to purchase that separately. The flash is 1/200 of a second. The D80 has 10.2 megapixels and a two and a half inch viewing screen.
I wanted to get a DSLR, but I couldn’t even get close to buying one, the price was too high. Also, I wanted something more portable, preferably a camera that would fit in my pocket. I didn’t want to carry it around in a bag. Nevertheless, I needed one that would give me decent control over aperture and focus. After reading a lot of reviews, I decided to try the Canon PowerShot G10. I bought it less than a month ago, and already took close to 10,000 shots. Here is what I think about it so far.
The built-in scene settings satisfy any amateur photographer’s needs. The list is quite exhaustive, and includes night, sunset, underwater and snow modes. The effects worked as if I had used Photoshop on the raw picture, which saved me a lot of time.
